Unit 12  My favorite subject is science

(The 1st period Section A 1a—2c)

Teaching aims(教学目标)

1.Talk about preferences

2.Give reasons

Language points(语言点)

1.要求掌握以下句式:(1)— What’s your favorite subject?

— My favorite subject is……

(2)— Why do you like ……?

— Because it’s …….

2.要求掌握以下词汇:(1)school subjects: science, math, music

(2)adjectives of quality such as interesting, relaxing.

Difficulties(难点):本课难点是学生对于几门学科单词读和写的掌握, 以及对形容词的再次运用.


Teaching steps(教学步骤)

1. Warming-up and revision(课堂热身和复习)

(1)Introduce myself

T: Hello, everybody. Nice to see you here. 

  I’m from Yongjing Middle School.

  You can call me Julia.1

(2)Revision(复习)

T: You know I’m an English teach teacher. But when I was at

your age. English is not my favorite subject.

   Can you guess what my favorite subject is?2

S: It was …

S: Is your favorite subject …..?

T: Yes, music is my favorite subject.

T: Do you like music?

S: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.

T: Can you sing a song for us?

T: If not, I’d like to sing a song for you. Do you welcome me?

  Please give me some claps.

Sing four songs for students, and ask: “what's your favorite song?”3


教学设计说明     

1.向学生介绍自己

 

 

 

 

2.此问用来复习favorite,还可以用来检查学生对学科单词的掌握情况。

 

 

 

3.通过四首歌的演唱,提升学生的兴趣, 活跃课堂气氛, 同时让学生复习 “My favorite……”的句型.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Presentation(呈现新知识)

a. T: (从复习中引出) Let’s guess what subject it is.4

T: Look at this man. He is a teacher. Can you guess which subject he teaches?

S: He teaches …....

T: Yes, he teaches Chinese. Do you like Chinese?

S: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.

T: I don’t like Chinese. Because it’s boring.5 (It’s not interesting).

b. T: Which class are they in?

  S: They are in P.E. class.

  T: Do they like P.E.?

  S: Yes, they do. /No. they don’t.

  T: I like P.E. too. Because P.E. is fun.6

Do the same way as the other subjects and adjectives (difficult, relaxing)

3. Work on 1a(完成P71 1a

T: Now we have learned these subjects. This time please take our this piece of paper, and match the words with the pictures.7

(使用教材第71页上的图片,给学生一分钟时间独立来完成此项任务。在此基础上组织下面的听力训练)

4.Work on 1b(完成P71 1b

T: Listen to the tape carefully, then circle the name of subjects when you hear it on the tape. 8

  

5.Work on 1c(完成P59-1c

T: From the tape we know A’s favorite subject is music. What about you?9

S: My favorite subject is ……...

T: Now, you can talk with your deskmate about his/her favorite subject.10

6.Do a game

T: This time I’ll show you the pictures of famous people and their favorite subjects quickly. Take out this piece of paper, after watching, please get the names and their favorite subjects together.11

 

 

 

 

 

4.通过guessing的形式让学生学习这些科目的新单词.

 

 

 

 

5.在黑板上板书这个词, 引起学生对boring这个词的注意,以便于后面的操练.

 

6.在黑板上板书这个词, 引起学生对fun这个词的注意,以便于后面的操练.

 

7.这是对前面所学学科单词的一个检查, 图片让学生再一次巩固这些单词

 

8.播放磁带. 如有需要,T可播放磁带两遍。如果学生对听出单词有问题,可以给他们这一部分的对话,挖空关键词,再听一遍,由学生回答, 让Ss听一句跟读一句。

9. 这一部分是对favorite subject的操练,先有T做示范, 然后请同学,同桌之间互相操练.

10.T尽量能够多叫一些Ss起来对话.

11. 通过这一环节吸引学生的注意力然后巩固刚学的学科单词. 连线题比较简单.检验答案时,先由T给例句,再由S模仿回答。重点操练 “What’s his/her favorite subject?”这一句型


7.Follow up(进一步扩展)

T: Now I’ll show you some pictures. I want you to use these words to say the pictures.12

T: Now, it’s game time.

  I’ll ask some students come here. Let them take out one piece of paper. On the paper, there is one of these words.

  Then the students can only use his actions to tell us the words.13

8. Work on 2a(完成P72 2a

T: Look at this picture. These two students are talking about their favorite subjects. I want you to listen to the tape. Then tell me “what’s his favorite subject and why does he like it.” 14

 

9. Work on 2b-2d (完成P72 2b-2d

T: This is my idea about the subjects. Now it’s your turn. Please take out your paper and match them together.15

T:Ok. I want you to report your idea just like this dialogue.

   “A: What’s your favorite subject?

    B: My favorite subject is …….

    A: Why do you like it?

    B: Because it’s …”

10. Follow up(进一步扩展)

T: Let’s chant together.16

 


 

12. 通过练习让Ss能够熟练地运用这些形容词.让Ss给予答案, 可以及时纠正他们的发音.

 

 

 

 

13. 游戏目的是为了操练这些形容词。在反复猜的过程中,加深对这些词的记忆.

 

 

14. 播放磁带. T可播放磁带两遍。由学生回答, 然后跟读.

 

 

15.     让Ss通过连线再一次复习学科和形容词,在回答的过程中操练了本节课的重点句型.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

16. 最后通过完成chant的形式来巩固本节课的重点句型和单词
